Eden Goodman MSW, RSW
I am a Registered Social Worker who has personally and professionally worked within the healthcare system to help older adults and those diagnosed with life limiting illnesses maintain their independence and quality of life. I began working in the healthcare space as my grandparents were increasingly accessing resources to help them remain at home safely. I saw my families experiences reflected in the experience of so many of my clients. I saw the struggle to find the right care providers and the emotional toll the changes took on my grandparents and extended family. I was able to use my training and experience to help my family navigate the private and public healthcare systems and help improve their quality of life and I want to help your family too. I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate the system successfully and demystifying the care space. I care deeply and am a strong advocate for the well-being of my clients.
I work with older adults to process and cope with the emotional impact of their changing care needs and support family members in navigating the changing dynamics associated with aging and illness. I also support family members who are dealing with the death of a loved one. I offer a non-judgmental space and tailor my approach to each client's individual needs. I use an eclectic approach and draw on therapeutic practices such as Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I employ a trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally attuned approach to care.
I have a Masters in Social Work from Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York with a trauma-informed practice certificate and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
